How we use Cookies and automatic data collection tools

Last reviewed: September 25, 2024

Unisys Corporation and its affiliates (collectively, “Unisys” “we” or “us”) created this Cookie Policy to help you learn about how we use browser cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and other web analytics and online automatic data collection tools (collectively, “Cookies") when you interact with us on our websites (“Websites”).

As we explain below, we use Cookies to receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us to improve our performance, distinguish you from other users, and enhance your user experience. You can manage the Cookies that Unisys uses (including disabling them if you choose) by following the instructions below in How to select or change Cookie preferences.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a site and allow a site to recognize your device. Cookies managed only by Unisys are called “first-party Cookies” whereas cookies provided by third parties are called “third-party Cookies”.

Pixel tags (also known as web beacons and clear GIFs) are used to, among other things, track the actions of users of our Websites, measure the success of our marketing campaigns, and compile statistics about usage of our Websites and response rates.

Certain information is collected by most browsers or automatically through your device, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, computer type (Windows or Mac), screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language, Internet browser type and version, and the name and version of the Website you are using. We use this information to ensure that our Websites function properly.

How Unisys uses Cookies

Unisys uses Cookies on our Websites (with your consent, where required) for security and online tracking purposes, to facilitate navigation, better display information, monitor the success of our Websites and ad campaigns, power the interactive features of our Websites, such as our chatbot, and deliver more relevant advertising throughout your online experience. We also use Cookies to gather information about your use of the Websites, including interactions with our chatbot feature. We do this to improve the user experience and the design and functionality of our Websites. For more details on how we collect and process personal data, please see our Privacy Statement.

Types of Cookies we use on Unisys’ Websites

A summary of cookies used on Unisys’ Websites is outlined below. For a detailed list of the Cookies used on our webpage (including first- and third-party cookies), please click here:

Strictly necessary Cookies

These Cookies are necessary for the operation of our Websites. They enable you to move around the Websites and use their services and features, such as accessing secure areas. Without these Cookies, certain services or features on our Websites may not be available.

Functional Cookies

These Cookies are optional and allow us to analyze Website usage so we can measure and improve our Websites’ performance. We collect information about how visitors use our Websites. This information is used to compile reports and help us improve the Websites. For example, functional analytics cookies show us which are the most frequently visited pages on the Websites, where visitors have come from, and how users have interacted with our Websites, including via our chatbot. Functional preference cookies collect information about your choices and preferences and allow us to remember language or other local settings in order to customize our Websites accordingly and provide more enhanced, personal features.

Functional Cookies help us facilitate navigation, display information more effectively, and develop and improve the performance and design of our Websites. This allows us to see the overall patterns of usage on the Websites, rather than the usage of a single person. If you do not allow these Cookies, we will not be able to monitor our Websites’ performance.

Targeting Cookies

These Cookies are used by advertising companies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests. Targeting Cookies (including advertising and social media Cookies) are used to collect information about social media usage and are set to display targeted promotions or advertisements based upon your interests on the Websites or to manage our advertising. These Cookies collect information about your activities on our Websites and other sites to provide you with targeted advertising. These Cookies may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit.

If you would like more information about targeted advertising, and to learn how to opt out of it in desktop and mobile browsers on the particular device on which you are accessing this Cookie Policy, please visit: for the U.S., http://optout.aboutads.info/#/ and http://optout.networkadvertising.org/#/; and for the EU https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/. You may download the AppChoices app at www.aboutads.info/appchoices to opt out in mobile apps.

Performance Cookies

These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site and will not be able to monitor its performance.
