Who Are “We”?

Unisys Corporation (registered in Delaware under organizational ID number 2028884 and registered address at Lakeview, Suite 100, Blue Bell, PA 19422, USA) and its subsidiaries (“Unisys,” “we,” “us,” “our”) value your trust and are committed to the responsible management, use and protection of personal data. This Recruiting and Hiring Privacy and Data Protection Notice (the “Notice”) describes our online and offline data processing practices in connection with your job search and application for a job with us, including through our Careers website or social media pages. Personal data submitted elsewhere on Unisys’ websites will be used in accordance with our general online Privacy Notice.

When you submit your personal data to Unisys, the relevant Unisys entity offering the role that you are applying for, as well as other Unisys entities where your future managers or other superiors are located, will receive and use your personal data as described in this Notice.

Who Does This Notice Apply To?

This Notice applies to individuals who seek a job with Unisys, as well as those who wish to work with us on a contracting basis.

This Notice provides you with information about the type of personal data we collect, why we collect it, with whom we share it and how we protect it during the recruiting and hiring process.

This Notice does not form part of any contract of employment should you be offered employment by us and does not cover the handling of our employee personal data. We cover the collection and processing of employee personal data through internal policies, processes and notices.

How Do We Collect Your Personal Data?

Personal data is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. In connection with your application, we collect personal data from you, such as:

  • Contact Details: name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact information;
  • Application Materials: CV, résumé and cover letter;
  • Experience: previous work, practical and other relevant experience;
  • Education: education, including level, type, subject-matter, degrees, diplomas and certificates and institutions;
  • Position of Interest: positions, roles and opportunities of interest and if applicable, position offered;
  • Skills: skills, languages and other competencies;
  • Certifications: professional and other work-related licenses, permits and certifications held;
  • Reference Details: information you provide relating to references;
  • Online Account Information: username and password to access the Careers website, logs showing how you use our Careers website, application identifiers and IP address and device identifiers that may be automatically collected;
  • Communication Preferences: preferred communication method and language;
  • Event Information: dietary restrictions, travel and accommodation details, and other details specific to a particular recruiting interview, meeting or other event;
  • Work Authorization: work authorization status and relevant visa or other immigration information;
  • Feedback: Your opinion and feedback on the application process or the use of our recruiting platform, social media pages and other online services; and
  • Other Information: any other information you otherwise elect to provide to us (e.g., employment preferences, willingness to relocate, current salary, desired salary, awards or professional memberships, content of your request or complaint).

We collect personal data directly from you when you interact with us, as well as from third parties, such as referees, recruiters or social media providers.

For example, after you register in our applicant tracking system on the Careers page, you will be asked to upload a prepared CV or build a CV using skills fields.

If you have been hired through a third-party staffing or recruiting firm, we will receive personal data and information about your experience and qualifications from such third parties.

If you provide us with personal contact information about another person, for example, for providing a reference or job referral, it is your responsibility to ensure that the person is aware and consents to you providing his/her contact information.

The personal data and information that we request and that you voluntarily choose to provide will depend on the job you are seeking. If you do not provide the information required, we may be unable to process your job application.

If you use your Google account to log in to the Careers page, we will receive your email ID from Google.

Sensitive Personal Data

We ask that you do not send to us or disclose sensitive personal data (e.g. social security numbers or other ID numbers, political opinions; philosophical or religious beliefs; membership of a trade union or political party; physical or mental health, biometric or genetic characteristics, criminal background etc.). You may voluntarily choose to provide information about your military/veteran status or information related to your race or ethnic origin, but you are under no obligation to do so. We will only process this information for purposes of promoting diversity and inclusion, and administering benefits, and only in accordance with applicable law.

Where required by applicable law, we will undertake these activities with your consent. Where the collection or processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time to the extent permitted by applicable law, but we may be restricted in our ability to process your job application.

We may anonymize or aggregate your personal data to generate aggregated statistics about candidates. These statistics will not be considered personal data.

If we hire you, personal data we collect in connection with your application can be incorporated into our human resources system and used to manage the new-hire process; any such information can become part of your employee file and used for other employment-related purposes.

How Do We Protect Your Personal Data?

We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect personal data within our organization. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us by emailing unisysglobalprivacy@unisys.com.

How Long Do We Retain Personal Data?

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which the data was collected from you and in consideration of and compliance with applicable legal or regulatory requirements to maintain the data. For example, where required by law for audits or accounting requirements, to enforce our agreements or handle disputes.

The criteria used to determine our retention periods are:

  • The duration of the job application process;
  • Whether your job application is successful and you become an employee;
  • Whether, if your application is not successful, you would like to be notified of future job opportunities with us or our subsidiaries;
  • The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and the length of time thereafter during which we may have a legitimate need to reference your personal data to address issues that may arise;
  • Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws may require us to keep your application records for a certain period of time); and
  • Whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations).

With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Data?

Our affiliates

We are a global enterprise headquartered in the United States with operations in countries around the world. As part of our recruitment and hiring practices, we will share your personal data with authorized Unisys human resources personnel as needed. We will limit access to personal data to personnel with a business need to know the information for the purposes described in this Notice, including personnel in the recruiting, human resources, and information technology departments, and in the group or department responsible for the position for which you are applying.

Our service providers

This includes external third-party service providers, such as recruitment service providers (e.g., employment reference checks, interview scheduling, application tracking and employment screening), hiring service providers (e.g., onboarding, payroll, training and benefits administration); IT systems, support and hosting service providers; printing and analysis service providers; document and records management providers; technical engineers; data storage and cloud providers and similar third-party vendors and outsourced service providers that assist us in carrying out business activities. Service providers may use data to generate de-identified insights for analytical purposes.

Government Authorities and third parties involved in court action

We may disclose your personal data to accountants, auditors, experts, lawyers, other professional advisors, courts, tribunals, opposing or other related parties to legal or administrative proceedings and their professional advisors, as well as public authorities in special cases:

i. if we are required to do so by law or pursuant to legal process;

ii. in response to a request from law enforcement authorities, other government officials (including for national security purposes) or securities or other regulatory authorities in countries in which Unisys securities are listed or traded;

iii. for our legitimate interests, when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraud or illegal activity;

iv. when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others; or

v. in connection with the sale, transfer or financing of all or part of a Unisys business or its assets, including any such activities associated with a bankruptcy proceeding.

Do We Transfer Your Personal Data Across International Borders?

Your personal data may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities, affiliates or in which we engage service providers. By applying for a position with Unisys, you understand that your personal data will be transferred to countries outside of your country or region of residence, including the United States, which may have data protection rules that are different from those of your country or region of residence. In certain circumstances, courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies or security authorities in those other countries or regions may be entitled to access your personal data.

As an IT and security services company, Unisys has implemented global privacy practices for processing personal data protected under various data protection laws. Unisys transfers personal data between the countries and regions in which we operate in accordance with the standards and conditions of applicable data privacy laws, including standards and conditions related to security and processing and acceptable transfer mechanisms.

For example, if you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), your personal data may be transferred to countries outside the EEA or the UK. Some of the non-EEA and non-UK countries are recognized by the European Commission and/or the UK as providing an adequate level of data protection: the lists of these countries are available here and here. For transfers to other countries, we have put in place adequate measures, such as standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission or the UK government to protect your personal data. In all cases, we will undertake transfers of your personal data in accordance with applicable law.

What Are Your Choices?

We rely on you to provide accurate, complete and current personal data to us.

If you need to correct or update the personal data you provided to us, you can log into our applicant tracking system from the Careers website and add, correct or modify your personal data with the options provided. If you need assistance or want to request your data be removed from our applicant tracking system, please contact us through unisysglobalprivacy@unisys.com. We will respond in a timely manner to all reasonable requests to access, correct or delete your personal data in accordance with applicable law.

If you would like to request to review, correct, update, suppress, restrict or delete your personal data, object to the processing of your personal data or if you would like to request to receive an electronic copy of your personal data for purposes of transmitting it to another company (to the extent this right to data portability is provided to you by applicable law), you may contact us at unisysglobalprivacy@unisys.com. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law. In your request, please make clear what personal data you would like to access or have changed, whether you would like to have personal data that you have provided to us suppressed from our database or otherwise let us know what limitations you would like to put on our use of your personal data.

For your protection, we only implement requests with respect to the information associated with the particular email address that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. Please note that certain personal data may be exempt from such requests pursuant to applicable data protection laws or other laws and regulations. We will not unlawfully retaliate against you for making these types of requests.

If you currently work for Unisys Corporation or one of our affiliates, you must be eligible to apply for a different position within Unisys to use the Careers website. Purposes for the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Data
